2013 User Lists
by Colin Jones - Saturday, 16 February 2013, 09:28 AM

By now nearly all students from Year 3 to Year 12 should have a Scoodle account. There are some Year 12 students who are yet to request an account.

If you can log in to Scoodle but can't see a course that you need, there are two probable causes. Either:

  • you have not been enrolled in the correct cohort
  • your teacher has not made the resource available

Please email the administrator with details of your name, student number, year level and the course and this will be enabled for you.

If you are not sure how to contact the administrator, ask someone.

New Scoodle Installation

Hi All

Scoodle was updated to the latest and greatest this evening. The site is currently being thoroughly tested and appropriate themes chosen. You may experience a number of different "looks" over the next few days.

One of the exciting features of the upgrade is the optimisation for tablet and mobile devices.

Using home computers for work
by Colin Jones - Friday, 7 October 2011, 12:24 PM

I applaud students who take the initiative to do extra work at home. However, there are a few things that you need to be aware of:

  • make sure the versions of the software you use at home are compatible with the school version (eg we use Adobe CS5 at school and CS5.5 files may not work in some applications)
  • the Computer Usage Agreement requires that you are using an up to date anti-virus program to ensure that you do not bring viruses to school
  • you should only place your work files on the USB drive that you bring to school. Never bring in games, screensavers etc you have received elsewhere
  • many programs such as Windows Live Moviemaker do not embed your media in the working file. They make links to the files on your drive. If you want to work on these programs at home and school it is best to place all your resources, including your working file, in a folder on your USB and work from your USB.

Creating accounts or resetting passwords
by Colin Jones - Sunday, 15 May 2011, 10:25 AM

You should be able to create a new account or reset your password as long as you have a working Sheldon College email account.

Some things that can go wrong are:

  • your Inbox is full
  • you do not have a working Sheldon College email account (see IT Support to set this up for you)
  • you typed in the wrong address

There is no limitation of user name imposed by Scoodle but you are asked to use your student number as user name. This helps the administrator to locate details in the case of attempted duplication of accounts and makes it easier for you to remember your user name.
